Tyurin Yu.N., Makarov A.A.
Statistical Data Analysis with PC
(expanded and recast edition).
In Russian.

A textbook on applied statistics and data processing with PC is intended for applied annalists and students. Basic notions and methods of applied statistical analysis and usage of leading Russian and American statistical software tools: STADIA, STATGRAPHICS. SPSS and Avrista are given. The methods of

are studied.
The second edition has much more detailed depiction of temporal series analysis methods, review of statistical packages for Windows and recommendations on their choosing. Data on statistical software vendors in Russia is largely renewed and extended.

Kulaichev A.P.
Data Analysis Methods And Tools for Windows
In Russian

The book describes data analysis and examples of problem solution with a help of the package STADIA 6.0 for Windows. An enclosed floppy disk has a working version of a program STADIA 6.0 for data processing and analysis execution. The book can be useful for those interested in data analysis methods and their realisation for IBM PC.

Sign Statistical Analysis of Linear Models
In English and In Russian.

In the book a new nonparametric approach to analysis of statistical data is exposed. It consists in using only the signs of observations or of certain functions of them depending on the data structure. Hence the method is referred to as the sign-based one. The book treats regression and autoregression models important for applications. For these models the sign-based method yields the solutions of the principle statistical problems (parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, etc.). Both, finite-sample and large-sample properties of the sign procedures are studied. The sign procedures are shown to be robust with respect to gross errors in the data. Numerical algorithms to implement the sign analysis are proposed, and examples of their application to their real and simulated data are given. The exposition evolves from elementary to advanced theory to make the book accessible for broader readership. The book is intended for those studying or applying mathematical statistics.
